The Whole Foods market in St. Charles, which has been a work in progress for the past year, is now officially confirmed to open this spring.
Within the past months, community members have been anticipating the opening of the Whole Foods as progress has been seen consistently, especially over the past few weeks. The market is now in the second phase of construction, which includes the finishing touches around the building, such as gardening and interior additions.
In March 2022, the building formerly known as the Blue Goose Market shut down completely after 90 years of business. After a year of being vacant, the building was finally bought by Whole Foods and has been underway ever since the company closed on the building in June 2023.
Whole Foods has 26 locations throughout the Chicago area and is a popular grocery store choice for shoppers. The market is known for selling all-natural and organic products that encourage healthy eating choices and non-GMO products. In 2015, Whole Foods faced many complaints about its often costly products, resulting in the company creating their own product line “365 by Whole Foods” which is primarily millennial-focused and contains more affordable products for everyone.
While an exact date for the store’s grand opening has not been posted yet, buyers can prepare for a new shopping experience that is potentially affordable and offers many options for everyone. The new store is located downtown St. Charles on 2nd street right next to popular Italian Restaurant Mio Modo.
