The Lady Saints’ dance team has always had an impressive reputation, and this season was no exception. On Jan. 30 and 31, 2026, the dance team competed in the IHSA Competitive Dance State Finals. Their lively performance of the song “Wriggle” by Cosmo Sheldrake earned them third-place.
The previous year, the team came in fifth after a very successful season. Many members of the team returned this year, contributing to their success.
On the first day of the competition, the team competed in the preliminary round, in which twelve of the thirty teams would move on to the next day. The Saints placed first in this round with a score of 94.26, qualifying for the finals the next day.
The following day, the hard work of the team throughout the year came into fruition in their last performance of the season. The Saints gave their all on the floor to end their season on a high note. The team had a final score of 93.12, bringing them to third-place.
This group of girls gave nothing but their all this season, accomplishing more than just a top-three state finish. The team was the champion of the IHSA Dance Sectional hosted by Geneva High School.
The Lady Saints will be back next year to continue their legacy and will continue to work hard to make it back to state. To follow their journey, you can find them @saintsdanceteam on Instagram.
